Join the Reduce Reuse and Recycle working group

Following the recent Reduce Reuse and Recycle event at Kyleakin Community Hall at the end of October, SLCVO will hold a meeting in January to establish a working group that can take forward the call for a more coordinated approach to work currently being done to minimise waste in Skye and Lochalsh, and establish a collaborative approach to the design and delivery of future projects.

The Reduce Reuse and Recycle event at Kyleakin Community Hall was organised and facilitated by Skye and Lochalsh Council for Voluntary Organisations (SLCVO) in collaboration with Rag Tag and Textile.  18 people took part including representatives from community groups already active in running initiatives that help reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill along with one small business. The Highland Council Waste Management Team delivered an informative talk and also took part in the discussions.

The date for the January meeting is likely to be either Tue 13th or Wed 14th Jan  2026 - details will be confirmed later. If you would like to learn more and be part of the working group please contact Michelle Seviour Third Sector Support Officer michelle.seviour@slcvo.org.uk or complete the form below.
