  • Start with spending 3-5 minutes working through The NCSC step by step Cyber Action Plan

  • Spend a little longer on their free Top Tips for Staff training and get confident with what cyber security means, as well as learning some actionable steps you can take to stay safe online. This training covers four key topics which you will explore by helping someone to navigate a tricky situation. Although it refers to staff it can apply to anyone in your organisation. 

 

  • Defending yourself against phishing

  • Creating strong passwords

  • Securing your devices

  • Reporting incidents

  • tips and advice on setting up strong passwords for all your accounts, especially online banking Three Random Words

  • Email Security Check - this free government service on the NCSC website checks your email domain for two important areas of cyber security 

    • Email anti-spoofing: Preventing cyber criminals sending emails pretending to be you (known as spoofing)

    • Email privacy: Making it harder for cyber criminals to intercept and read your email in transit

Lead Scotland, a national disability and education charity, offer a free resource Training the Trainers Hub. These 5-10 minute videos are available online at any time and cover all the cyber basics. LEAD Scotland Training the Trainers hub.
