The Skye and Lochalsh Wellbeing and Community Support Directory 2025-2027
Information and contact details for over 130 support services available to people of all ages living in Skye and Lochalsh. The listings include locally based charities and volunteer-led community groups plus national helplines and organisations based outwith the local area offering outreach or remote assistance, alongside contact information for services offered by The Highland Council, NHS Highland and emergency services. The information in this Directory is updated on a monthly basis. Printed copies of the Directory are also available and these are updated every 2 years.
Skye and Lochalsh Community Sport Hub
Skye & Lochalsh Community Sport Hub supports and empowers all sections of the community to take part in sport and physical activity, with links to local groups and events.
Single Points Of Access (SPOA) for community services - Skye, Lochalsh and Wester Ross
Single Points of Access (SPOA) provide a direct route to integrated community health and social care services across Highland districts. Designed to support residents who may not need hospital care but do need other forms of help, SPOA connects people to services such as care at home, social work, mental health, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and more. Available weekdays during office hours, with emergency social work support outside these times, SPOA helps ensure the right support is found quickly and locally.

Highland Connections
The Highland Directory of Support Services
This online resource helps people across the Highlands find and share information about services and organisations that support health and wellbeing. It includes local groups, activities, and support on topics like bereavement, isolation, and food access. Originally developed for the Community Link Workers service, the directory is now a shared tool for anyone seeking support in Highland. It is jointly coordinated by NHS Highland and the Highland Third Sector Interface.
The Highland Mental Wellbeing website
This website is a list of services, information and training around the subject of mental health and wellbeing. It can be confusing to know where to start with online information, so it aims to help by highlighting some of the best websites and sources of help. It also provides information about training and resources for community/service volunteers or paid staff, in a ‘helping’ or supporting role.
The Parent Hub
A community-led initiative supporting young people to grow up healthy, connected, and resilient. The Parent Hub offers trusted information, interactive tools, and opportunities for parents and carers to share ideas and get involved in shaping a better future for children across Highland.
Highland Alcohol and Drugs Partnership (HADP)
a multi-agency group working to reduce alcohol and drug-related harm across Highland. Through their website, you can access a Directory of Services offering advice and support from local organisations, as well as training opportunities, online resources, and information on a wide range of topics related to substance use and recovery.

Highland Pride SCIO
A volunteer-led Scottish charity working to advance the wellbeing of the LGBTQ+ community in the Highlands.They promote inclusion through events like Highland Pride and the Trans Day of Remembrance vigil, share resources and updates from allied groups, and maintain an active presence on social media.Visit their website for links to more resources.
The Military Liaison Group (Education)
“The MLG” – is a Highland-wide tri-service partnership supporting Armed Forces families (Army, Navy, RAF – Serving, Reservist or Veteran) to ensure their children and young people thrive in education. The MLG helps families understand and navigate the Scottish education system, provides timely information and signposting, and offers resources and training to schools and practitioners to raise awareness of the unique challenges faced by military families.

ALISS A Local Information System for Scotland
ALISS is a national digital programme enabling people and professionals to find and share information on health and wellbeing resources, services, groups, and support in their local communities and online.
Bòrd na Gàidhlig
The principal public body in Scotland responsible for promoting Gaelic development, including providing advice to Scottish Ministers on Gaelic issues. Their aim is that Gaelic is seen and heard on a daily basis across Scotland, such that it is widely recognised as an integral part of Scottish life and a national cultural and economic asset.
LGBT Health and Wellbeing
Scotland’s health and wellbeing charity for LGBTQ+ adults. They work to improve the physical, social, and mental health and wellbeing of LGBTQ+ adults (16+) in Scotland through responsive support services, opportunities for our community to connect with each other, and supporting mainstream services to be more inclusive
