We’re excited to launch a brand‑new way for people across Skye and Lochalsh to access support, meet others and connect with local services. The Skye and Lochalsh Community Outreach Hubs, led by Skye and Lochalsh Council for Voluntary Organisations (SLCVO), will bring a wide range of health, wellbeing, welfare and family services directly into your local community.

Instead of travelling long distances or trying to navigate complicated systems, you’ll be able to drop in, get support, join activities, ask questions, or simply have a chat—all in a welcoming, relaxed space close to home.

Why the Hubs Matter
People in Skye and Lochalsh told us they needed easier access to local services, more opportunities to connect, and support that feels approachable and stigma‑free.

The hubs are designed to help with challenges many local residents face, such as:
-
long travel distances
-
limited public transport
-
digital barriers
-
isolation
-
difficulty accessing support when it’s needed

By bringing everything into one friendly, local space, the hubs make it simpler and more comfortable to get the help you need.

A Community‑Led Partnership
The hubs are part of the wider Skye and Lochalsh Health, Wellbeing, Welfare and Social Care Collaboration—a partnership of more than 20 organisations working together to improve services across the area.

Supported by over £220,000 of national funding, the hubs will run for an initial two‑year period and continue to grow and adapt based on feedback from local people.

Matthew Davis, SLCVO Service Manager
“This is a significant moment for Skye and Lochalsh. The Outreach Hub will bring essential support directly into local communities and give people a simple, stigma‑free way to access help. We’re incredibly proud that the first major project of the HWWS Collaboration is led by the third sector and shaped by lived experience.”
