Befriending Coordinator

Are you passionate about building connections, supporting communities, and making a real difference in people’s lives? Skye and Lochalsh Council for Voluntary Organisations (SLCVO) is seeking a dynamic and compassionate individual to oversee and grow our Befriending Service.

Duration: Fixed term until April 2028
Hours: Part-time – 21 hours per week (3 days a week)
Pay: £13.50 per hour rising to £14.00 per hour after training is completed (£25,480 pro rata)

Annual Leave: 18 days per annum plus 6 public holidays
Location: Home-based in Skye or Lochalsh with travel across the area
 

As a key part of our community-driven service, you’ll recruit, train, and support volunteer befrienders, while coordinating client referrals and fostering meaningful connections. You’ll collaborate with local hospitals and stakeholders to drive positive outcomes, create engaging content for newsletters and social media, manage third-sector directories, and contribute to the development of impactful new projects to enhance community well-being.

 

We’re seeking a proactive, adaptable professional with excellent communication and organisational skills, a talent for building relationships, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Creativity, IT proficiency, and experience in volunteer or client-focused roles are essential.
