  • 10.30-1.00- S&L Drug and Alcohol workshop

    • This workshop is for members of the SLWR Drug and Alcohol Forum, the public sector, businesses and community groups to look at how they can work together to tackle the drug and alcohol challenges facing communities, families and individuals in Skye and Lochalsh.

  • 2.00 - 3.30 - Turning your idea into a community project

    • This session is for people and groups who have an idea to do something new or different for their community. It will help you plan how to identify need and formulate a step by step plan from who needs to be involved and how to get funding. 

Portree Community Centre 25th July

  • 1.00-3.00 - Meet your local groups & volunteer

    • Come along to meet local groups and see the great work they are doing. There will be opportunities to chat about volunteering, find out how groups can help you and tell us what you would like to see in your community.

  • 3.30 - 5.00 - An introduction to good governance

    • Good governance is essential to the resilience and success of your group. This session will introduce you to the principles of good governance based on the Scottish Governance Code for the Third Sector.  It will help you to apply the principles of the Code to your groups context and provide practical tools for improving the governance of your charity. 

  • 5.30-7.00 - Planning & writing funding applications

    • This session will help you put together a stronger case for funding. It will help you understand what makes a good application and demonstrate to a funder the benefits and impact of the work you will deliver.
