Mobile Phone Recycling

Skye & Lochalsh CVO have joined the Community Foneback scheme offering a facility for old mobile phones to be sent away and either refurbished for re-use in developing countries or the component parts recycled. For every 30 phones that we collect that can be re-sold, Community Fonebak will give us cash or vouchers, so as well as responsible recycling our services will benefit too. Bring your old mobiles (dont forget to remove the sim card first) to Tigh Lisigarry.

Next month it could be your group!

Skye & Lochalsh CVO have teamed up with the local paper West Highland Free Press to give our member groups the chance to shout about what you do! Every month the WHFP Life Beat supplement includes a feature on a community group –a great opportunity to tell people about what you do, how you achieve things, what real difference your project or activities or service makes to the local community.

The feature has been running since June 2007 and is proving very popular. Groups featured over the last few months have included SkyeDance, Crossroads Care Skye & Lochalsh, the Skye & Lochalsh Visual Impaired People's Association and the Living Ark Sanctuary.

Next month - it could be your group!
