Why become a board member of a public body?
Public bodies are involved in a huge range of activities, from specialised areas such as crofting or legal aid to education, sports, tourism and social care. In Scotland, public bodies are responsible for spending more than £10 billion of public money each year. It’s important that our public bodies reflect the whole of our society. To achieve this, it is absolutely vital that we get applications from people with new ideas and fresh perspectives.
Public appointments are a way to make your voice heard, in a place where it can really make a difference. They also provide excellent opportunities to broaden your own experience and networks and develop your skills.
This is one of a series of seminars being offered around Scotland.
