Portree and District Rotary Club and volunteers will be undertaking a sponsored walk from Glenbrittle to Braes ( a total of approx 14 miles) in a bid to raise funds to help with the refurbishment of Budmhor House in Portree.

The care home's 15-18 month refurbishment plan aims to extend capacity at Budmhor to 32 ensuite rooms and to give the elderly residents access to new communications technology such as internet and webcam facilities. The lounge will be refitted and redecorated, windows upgraded, central heating replaced and a new lift installed. 

The sponsored walk will start at 09:30 on Saturday 17th April from Glen Brittle Mountain Rescue Post. Those wishing to take part are advised to wear strong walking boots and to be suitablty attired for the weather conditions. They should also take a packed lunch and hot drink. Transport will be made available from Portree to Glenbrittle with pick up points for return from Sligachan and Braes.
