| Using Personal Devices for Work Purposes - new guidance
The use of personal laptops, smart phones and other personal devices by employers (referred to as BYOD - Bring your own Device) is fast becoming a recognised practice in many work places. The Information Commissioners Office (ICO) has released guidance for employers on the Data Protection issues surrounding this. We have also added a new page to the Community Toolkit looking at the implications for community groups and Third Sector organisations considering BYOD.

| New legislation for charities to free up restricted assets
The Charities Restricted Funds Reorganisation (Scotland) Regulations 2012 comes into effect on 1 November 2012, making it possible for charities to apply to OSCR for consent to free up restricted assets that they have been unable to access because of outdated restrictions. New guidance explaining the legislation and process has been prepared by OSCR.

OSCR's new online service, 'OSCR Online' was launched to charities on 11 June.
