Free Music Donation To Charity Shops
22 June 2012

Charities that wish to have ‘mainstream’ music in their store must pay royalty fees to the Performing Right Society (PRS) and Public Performance Licencing (PPL) collection agencies.

Charity Shop Radio, offers an alternative music source without the added fees. Using unsigned bands and artists expertly combined to produce pre-recorded shows broadcast over the internet or through a standalone unit where no broadband service is available.

The only cost to the charity organisation is a one off purchase of a pre-configured wi-fi/lan radio. Quick set up means the store can be up and running within a few minutes.

The broadcast also includes intermittent charity announcements and advertisements, these are the lifeblood of the service without which IMSRadio.net couldn’t continue to provide the free service.

All the music is carefully selected to provide a ‘middle of the road’ feel and track/artist information is announced by the DJ, thereby giving emerging talent a platform previously unavailable.

Charity Shop Radio is part of IMSRadio formed by brothers Colin and Gary Wilkinson to provide instore royalty free music solutions for business and a platform for emerging talent. Clients range from pet shops to major franchises (Subway and KFC).
